Dr. Rumes Sriamareswaran is a senior medical registrar at Peninsula Health and is a member of Peninsula Health's Choosing Wisely committee as well as the Victorian State committee for Choosing Wisely. He works along side Mrs. Mays Solomon, a clinical pharmacist at the same health network. Together, they are interested in identifying and reducing medication related harms in patients. Together they have done audits on medications implicated in exacerbations of heart failure and have presented their findings at Peninsula Health's Research forum. Currently, they aim to help reduce the rising use of opioid medication use in their health network and have undertaken this audit as a first step in quantifying the opioid use at their hospital. They have presented these findings at the local forum and have won the Peninsula Health research prize for their presentation.
